Public Health Epidemiology Online Program

Public Health Epidemiology’ is one of the many majors offered in Public Health Schools. It is considered among the most opt for and growth oriented majors available. It is basically a thorough study of how diseases are transmitted in a group of people, and what can be done to prevent any future occurrences.  Specifically when being taught as a Public Health major, this subject deals with interventions to prevent rather than treat a disease through supervision and special measures during an outbreak.  During the course of this subject, students will be taught how to:

- Carry out research on a given disease
- Design a study on a public health issue
- Address the advocacy involved in the public health issue
- Write reports on finishing a research project
- Collaborate with doctors and other health care providers to address a given public health issue
- Develop plans for coping with rising threats.

The goal of this major is to teach the students on how to reduce public health risks by studying the patterns of diseases; and develop skills to make predictions about likelihood of disease occurrence and develop prevention strategies. Taking Public Health Epidemiology online program as a major can prove to be very fruitful for your career; you can easily find a position for yourself in private research facilities, a university, World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Diseases Control (CDC) or as a consultant for both private and public sectors.

Future epidemiologists will be responsible to combat emerging infections, natural disasters, or terrorism, and will continue to study public health problems such as unintentional injuries, environmental exposures, congenital anomalies, drug abuse, tobacco use, alcoholism, obesity and domestic violence.
